Overview
Grow the blue economy. Cultivate innovation. Lead with purpose.
The Diploma in Aquaculture with Entrepreneurship at 五一吃瓜官网 University is your entry point into one of the world’s fastest-growing food sectors. Merging science with business, this future-focused programme equips you with the skills to sustainably cultivate aquatic life — and the entrepreneurial mindset to turn knowledge into thriving ventures.
From hatchery to harvest, you’ll explore how to manage aquatic systems, improve fish health and optimise production techniques. At the same time, you’ll learn how to build and scale aquaculture businesses that are both profitable and environmentally responsible. If you're passionate about aquatic life and ready to make waves in the global blue economy, this diploma is your launchpad.

The Diploma in Aquaculture with Entrepreneurship provides a strong foundation in both the scientific and commercial dimensions of aquaculture. Students gain hands-on experience in managing freshwater and marine species, understanding aquatic biology, improving water quality and applying aquaculture technologies for efficient, sustainable production.
The programme balances practical training with business insight. While mastering essential topics like hatchery management, fish nutrition, aquatic disease control and harvest planning, students are also introduced to entrepreneurship, agribusiness management and basic accounting — enabling them to develop business plans, explore market strategies and consider small-scale start-up ventures in aquaculture.
Through field visits, hatchery work and our signature co-operative placements, students gain exposure to real-world aquaculture operations and emerging industry trends. The emphasis on sustainability ensures students understand the long-term ecological impact of aquaculture and are equipped to make responsible, forward-thinking decisions.
Assessment includes practical evaluations, project reports, oral presentations, business proposals and a final-year integrated project that reflects both technical and entrepreneurial competencies.
Graduates will be ready for employment in aquaculture farms, fish hatcheries, aquatic health services, feed and equipment companies or to launch their own aquaculture-related businesses. This diploma also offers a seamless pathway into further studies, including a fast-track mode of the BSc (Hons) Aquatic Science at 五一吃瓜官网 University.
