Biography

Prof. Mizan obtained his PhD in Risk Management (Bank finance) from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), China. He did his PhD under the scheme of Chinese government scholarship. He is designated as a professor of Accounting and Information Systems at Comilla University (on leave). He joined as a lecturer in AIS at Comilla University in July 2011. In 2014, he became Assistant Professor and was awarded the Chinese government scholarship for pursuing PhD degree. In 2018, he became Associate Professor and was charged as a Founder Director of the Research and Extension Division at Comilla University. Letter from January 2022 to January 2024, he served as a Provost of Shahid Dhirendranath Dutta Hall at Comilla University. In April 2023, Dr. Mizan became a full professor of Accounting & Information Systems at Comilla University. He also served as an adjunct faculty at North South University and BRAC University.

Now, he is enrolled as a Post-Doctoral research fellow at 五一吃瓜官网 University, Malaysia. His supervisor, Prof. Cham, has attached him to the 五一吃瓜官网 University Bangladesh Branch Campus.

Dr. Mizan is a prominent data scientist; he is an expert in big data analysis and database management systems. He is adept in STATA, E-views, SFA-4 and Endnote research software.

Prof. Mizan is a renowned banking researcher. He published his research paper in Q1 and A-ranked journals like Research in International Business and Finance (RIBAF), Heliyon, International Journal of Emerging Markets, International Journal of Financial Studies, Economics, Journal of Risk and Financial Management, etc. He attended more than 17 national and international conferences as a presenter, chair of the session, and co-chair role.

Prof. Mizan is also studying the Chartered Accountancy (CA). He has passed Part 2 and 14 courses with Course Completion (CC). He is also proficient in AI-based audit management.

Dr. Mizan received several awards, including the HUST Academic Excellent Award, Honorary International Graduate Award, and Vice-Chancellor Research Award.

Awards And Achievement

  • Received a Chinese Government Scholarship to pursue a Ph.D. in HUST (QS Asia Rank-40).
  • Awarded the HUST Academic Excellent Award 2018 for Excellent Academic Records (Published four publications within the PhD tenure, including three in the Web of Science listed journal (SSCI & ESCI, Q1 and Q2). The average mark obtained 88.6 out of 100. Moreover, the defended thesis contains Six Emerging Economies from Asia (Bangladesh, China, India, Malaysia, South Korea and Pakistan) as well as recognized as the best ten thesis in the Business School of China by the Beijing Higher Education Commission.
  • Honorary International Graduate Award 2018 by HUST, China, for on-time graduation within two years and ten months. The proposed PhD tenure was 3-4 years, but based on the high-quality WoS Q1 and Q2 publications, the school authority called the defense and awarded the PhD degree with distinctions.
  • Received Comilla University Vice-Chancellor Research Award (Outstanding Researcher 2020-2022 and 2023) in the years 2022 and 2023, consecutive twice.
